during the 80's and 90's you had a lot ground hurling in those days and players weren't afraid to risks , not like today. I know sometimes people say the league means nothing but it is a good way getting to know teams before they play.

I know sometimes people will criticise the GAA, but least you know where the monney was going unlike the F.A.I. F.A.I who didn't upgrade the stadiums during Jack Charlton era.

Brilliant game. I was at the draw in Limerick and this game in the Páirc. I have this game on VHS, recorded at the time from the Sunday Game and wore out the tape, I watched it so much growing up throughout the 80's. A brilliant, tough, hard game. Old style hurling. Great players on both sides. Ger Cunningham, Dermot McCurtain, Tom Cashman, John Fenton, JBM, the late Seanie O'Leary. Limerick had the late Tommy Quaid and Leonard Enright, Mossy Carroll Joe McKenna and Eamonn Cregan. Great memories of great times!!! Rebels Abú!
